Lelystad Flevo Marina - IJmuiden Marina Seaport

Sam came on board as agreed on Sunday evening, August 12,2012, exactly at 08:00 hrs. We spend the evening with some beers and agreed to start early the next morning in order to have full benefit of the daylight. So, we started on Monday morning at 07:15 AM with the finest sailing weather one can wish: nice South easterly wind force 4-5 BF and clear sky and nice temperature. We sailed very quick towards Amsterdam and arrived at the Schellingwouder bridge at 12:00 AM. No delay as the bridge was open when we arrived. Due to too little wind we sailed on motor to IJmuiden. We passed the locks at 16:00 hours in fine nice sunshine, but no moe wind. Therefore we decided to rest in the Seaport Marina and to continue the next day towards Scheveningen or further. Sam repaired the electra cable in the meantime. In the evening he cooked a nice meal of potatoes, beet and steak. We hope tomorrow will bring some wind. Again e have to start early as the High Tide is at 02:15 and it is recommenden to start the journey three hours after High Tide... which means 05:15. Oh No.
